I kept waiting for the food to get better with each bite and it just... didnt. The salsa carried the entire meal. Everything else was bland, uninspired, and overpriced for the quality. Edible? Sure. Memorable? Not for the right reason.
Possibly one of the worst dinning experiences I've ever had. Food was barely ok,beans were cold. The waitress was a joke. And when we paid the prices were all different than menu. In my opinion they owe me money. I added it up on menu, they charged about 16 dollars more. When asked to get a menu to compare,it was not offered. If you like bad food, horrible service and being overcharged. Then go. Otherwise avoid this place like the plague
Website says they are open until 8:00 pm! Went there to eat at 5:00and the sign says closed!!! Not happy at all!!! Drove 30 minutes to get there for nothing!!! Either the website needs updating or owners need updating???😡
Stop in for best Sunday breakfast mi Casa style to Fernando's Grand Rapids, so good!!
I had just gotten engaged, and my fiancé and I went out to eat here to celebrate. The service was slow because they only had one server, which I understood. I ordered the barbacoa tacos, rice and beans. We didn’t get complimentary chips and salsa which is the first Mexican restaurant I’ve been to in my life that didn’t have this which was very odd to me. When we finally got our food, I was not impressed at all by the taste. As I was eating my tacos, I found a literal hair in my food. I was grossed out and when the server came by she had asked if I was done and I explained that I found a long hair in my food. She didn’t apologize, ask if they could make me a new one, offer a discount on the bill- nothing. Her response was just asking “so do you want me to take your plate away?”. I didn’t expect a discount, but to not even acknowledge how gross that is and apologize? Horrible customer service. We will never be going there again, and I don’t recommend this place to anyone. It was the worst celebration of our engagement that should have been such an amazing dinner celebration.
Edit: after seeing their response to my own and other reviews, I lowered my rating in service because my god, take the time to proof-read, learn how to accept feedback with grace, and respond appropriately to people who paid hard-earned money towards your mediocre service. Disgusting. Original: 1st? They have one server working on a Saturday night. No excuse. 2nd? Their chips and salsa (that weren’t complimentary) were something like the quality of expired Tostitos and store bought tomato sauce. No onion, no seasoning, and I was lucky to get a crunch from the chips. 3rd? I’d probably go into detail about the dinner bill here but we decided to cut our losses short and eat elsewhere. It cost $20 for two drinks and chips with the quality of those I could have found in between my sofa cushions. Grand Rapids is an adorable little town but I’m finding their restaurants have some improvements to make.
Food was average. Service was average. They weren’t using the fryer and had run out of beans so that limited the choices a bit. No free chips for the table. BUT!! The live music was great! The whole place was engaged and having a great time! Take cash if you can to avoid the credit card service fee.
I was walking by and this place stood out, it looked like a bright colored Ice Cream Parlor. The staff are so friendly here. Ice cream, beer and Mexican food all in one place. I only tried the ice cream and it was very delicious.
